This summer sangria is super easy to make. A lot of sangrias call for several different kinds of alcohol mixed together with red wine, but this version just focuses on a crisp chardonnay. It has a low alcohol content, so its perfect for sipping all day long.

Instead the flavors are well balanced, smooth and crisp and refreshing.

This tastes great freshly mixed, but if you allow it to sit in the fridge for a while, it mellows even more. In short, its the perfect drink to enjoy a glass of all afternoon.

Ingredients Needed:

  • Chardonnay – you want a nice crisp Chardonnay
  • Peaches and Blueberries – juicy and in season fruit is best for this. If you can’t find it, its ok to use frozen. You could also substitute the peaches with nectarines.
  • Peach Nectar – This helps sweeten our sangria and give it even more peach flavor.
  • Club Soda – This helps give the sangria a little fizz!
  • Sugar – We use this to help sweeten the sangria a little and create our thyme simple syrup
  • Fresh Thyme – We need this for our simple syrup, and it needs to be fresh. Do not substitute with dried.

How to make Summer Sangria without Alcohol

Sooo…. let’s pretend that for some reason you can’t drink a lovey chardonnay based sangria. Like… maybe you are pregnant. And maybe you are tired of watching your family drink wine in front of you every single week while you sip on some water!

Don’t worry – I’ve got your back. Because I totally know how you feel!

Instead of using a bottle of chardonnay, replace the alcohol with a 50/50 mixture of white grape juice and ginger ale.

  5. What a lovely tradition you have started Jenni. I moved away from my family once I went off to collage. I really do miss the opportunity to pop in on the weekends and have dinner together. It’s so nice that you are bringing everyone together every weekend for love and laughs. And such a beautiful sangria to do it with.
