Made with apple cider, a splash of brandy, and the iconic fall flavors of orange, cinnamon, and cranberries, this cocktail is perfect for Thanksgiving or any fall gathering. It is sure to please all adults! Easily adaptable, this perfect easy cocktail is spiced and fun.
Apple Cider Sangria is the perfect combination of everything we love about fall – perfectly ripe fruit, warm cinnamon, and sweet cider. Plus its mixed with an amazing combination of brandy and white wine, making it a fantastic adult beverage!
Not that overly alcoholic drinks are a bad thing, but its nice to be able to enjoy more than one glass of something without finding yourself laying on the floor with some person you have barely met singing “Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum”. Enter adult-hood.
How to make apple cider sangria
This recipe is simple to make – basically just combine all the ingredients together! For the full set of directions, make sure you scroll down to the recipe card below:
- In a large pitcher, combine the wine, apple cider, and brandy.
- Stir in the chopped apple, pear, orange, cinnamon sticks and cranberries.
- Cover and place in the fridge for at least 4 hours for the flavors to combine.
- Right before serving, add the club soda and stir.
- Enjoy
Recipe Tips and Tricks
- Make sure you use pears that are perfectly ripe. If they are too soft, they will just turn into mush in the sangria.
- Drink this apple cider sangria within 24 hours, otherwise the apples and pears will start to turn brown
Recipe Variations
What I love about this recipe is how simple it is to make variations on it! Try:
- Switching out the dry white wine for a red wine
- Replace the brandy for vanilla vodka
This is a great drink to serve during fall evenings by the fire pit, at Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, or any other holiday party.
What type of wine should you use for sangria?
What type of wine you use depends on whether you want to make this with a white or a red wine. Both are great options, so it just depends on what you want. Just make sure you use a good wine you would enjoy drinking by itself.
- Red wine – any dry red will work well, you don’t want something sweet here. Try a Spanish red!
- White wine – again, we want something dry. Pino Grigio or Chardonnay are my go-to’s.
