– 1 1/3 cup diced strawberries – 3 Tablespoons granulated sugar – 2 Tablespoons water – 4 cups milk

1. Wash, core, and dice the strawberries.

Make the strawberry syrup

2. In a small saucepan, combine the diced strawberries, sugar, and water.


3. Simmer over medium low heat, until it simmers.


4. Cook, stirring frequently, until the strawberries are mostly cooked down. Mash the strawberries as you go with your spatula or wooden spoon. It is done when it has thickened into a nice thick syrup and most of the strawberries have broken down.


5. Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla extract, and allow to cool.
