Ingredients Needed:

You only need a few ingredients to make this tasty treat!

  • Orange Slices – I prefer to use clementines for this recipe or mandarin orange slices. You want small slices without seeds for the best snacking.
  • Chocolate – I like to use a good quality dark chocolate for this, but you can also use bittersweet or semi sweet. Just make sure the chocolate you get is high quality with limited ingredients. If it has a bunch of fillers and additives added, it won’t melt or set as nicely.
  • Salt – I like a good flakey sea salt (affiliate link) here. Fleur De Sel is my favorite, but any nice finishing salt will work. I do not recommend using regular Iodized table salt here as it will be too harsh flavored.

How to make oranges covered in chocolate

This recipe is very simple to make! Here is a brief overview of the recipe to give you an idea of how it works. For the full set of directions and measurements, please make sure you scroll down to the recipe card below!

  1. Peel the clementines and separate out all the segments, removing as much rind and pith as you can.
  2. Place the chopped chocolate in a small bowl microwave safe bowl, and melt in the microwave for 10 seconds at a time, stirring in between each interval. When the chocolate is all melted and smooth, you can start dipping.
  3. Dip the clementine segments into the chocolate and transfer to the prepared sheet.
  4. Immediately sprinkle with tiny pinches of the salt.
  5. Allow the chocolate to set. You can leave it on the counter, or you can speed this up by placing the pan in the fridge for 10-30 minutes.

Storage Information

Store these chocolate covered oranges in a container with a lid in the fridge for up to 3 days. I find they store best when they are in a single layer, or you can layer them with pieces of parchment or waxed paper between.
