These easy roasted nuts are spiced with cinnamon and chipotle and sweetened with honey. They are an easy to make and easy to eat appetizer or snack that will won’t be able to get enough of. Perfect for Christmas, any holiday, or any get together.

This easy appetizer takes no time at all to make, making it a quick treat to make at a moment’s notice.

Mixed nuts are sweetened and spiced with fun of flavors that are pleasing to everyone! The combination of cinnamon and chipotle with fresh rosemary, a little orange juice, and maple syrup

Ingredients needed:

You only need a few pantry ingredients to make these delicious roasted nuts. Here is a basic overview of what you need to have on hand – for the full recipe, please scroll down to the recipe card below.

  • Mixed Nuts – For this recipe you need a mixture of pecan halves, walnut halves, sliced or whole almonds and whole cashews. Make sure you get ones that are unsalted. You can adjust the amounts of the varieties of the nuts to suit your tastes.
  • Sweeteners – We are using a combination of maple syrup, brown sugar, and orange juice to sweeten and flavor the roasted nuts.
  • Spices – We are using a combination of cinnamon and chipotle powder, and the finishing the roasted nuts off with a generous sprinkle of salt for that salty/sweet/spicy flavor. You also need fresh rosemary. Dried will not give you enough flavor.

How to make these roasted nuts

This recipe is simple to make! For the full set of directions, please scroll down to the recipe card below. This is just a general overview on how to make it to help you plan.

  1. Preheat the oven and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, mix together the ingredients (reserving half of the rosemary and the sea salt (affiliate link) for the end) and toss thoroughly to coat.
  3. Roast the nuts for 24 minutes, stirring halfway, until the nuts are golden brown .
  4. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the remaining 2 TBSP rosemary and the sea salt.
  5. Toss well and set aside at room temperature, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. Serve warm or cool

Storage Information

Store these nuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces pecan halves unsalted
  • 10 ounces walnut halves unsalted
  • 6 ounces whole almonds unsalted
  • 3 ounces whole cashews unsalted
  • cup pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • 4 Tablespoons fresh minced rosemary divided
  • 3 Tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground chipotle powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F
  • Cover a rimmed baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together the nuts, maple syrup, brown sugar, orange juice, chipotle powder, cinnamon, and 2 Tablespoons of fresh rosemary.
  • Toss to coat thoroughly.
  • Spread the nuts into the prepared baking pan, ensuring they are in a single even layer.
  • Roast the nuts for 12 minutes.
  • Give the nuts a good stir, and spread back out into a single layer.
  • Roast for an additional 12 minutes, until the nuts are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the remaining 2 TBSP rosemary and the sea salt.
  • Toss well and set aside at room temperature, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  • Serve warm or cool
