Whipped feta dip is an easy and delicious appetizer for foodie families to enjoy together! This creamy dip is made by whipping feta, cottage cheese and milk together until smooth and topping with a fig and pistachio topping, then drizzled with lots of honey. A fantastic combination of salty, sweet, and garlicy, you won’t be able to stop eating this!

Honey whipped feta is a great sweet and savory dip recipe. Made my blending together feta, cottage cheese and milk until smooth and creamy and then topped with a warm honey, pistachio and fig topping.

Honey whipped feta dip is one of those appetizers that seems like a super fancy recipe, but is actually quite easy to make. Seriously, this creamy and flavorful dip will take you about 10 minutes start to finish to make.

How to make whipped feta dip with honey

  1. In a small saucepan make the fig and pistachio topping by combining the ingredients together over medium low heat, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has mostly cooked out and everything has been heated through.
  2. In a food processor, combine the ingredients for the feta dip until smooth and creamy, adding more milk a little at a time until you reached the desired consistency. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  3. Spoon the feta dip into a serving bowl, and top with the warm fig topping. Drizzle extra honey on top before serving.
  4. Enjoy!

Storage Information

This dip can be made up to 2 days ahead of time. Make the topping and the dip and store them separately in air tight container in the fridge. Re-warm the fig topping slightly before serving, then assemble

Ingredients

Honey Fig and Pistachio topping:

  • 8 Tablespoons honey divided
  • cup chopped roasted shelled pistachios
  • cup dried figs finely diced
  • 4 Tablespoons water

Creamy Feta Dip:

  • 8 ounces feta cheese
  • 4 ounces cottage cheese
  • 4 Tablespoons milk
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh mint leaves
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine 4 Tablespoons of honey, the chopped pistachios, chopped figs, and water.
  • Place on the stovetop over medium-low heat and stir until the ingredients have come together, are heated through, and the water has mostly cooked out.
  • Turn off heat and allow to sit and cool at room temperature while you make the dip.
  • In the jar of a blender, combine together the feta, cottage cheese, milk, olive oil, mint, garlic, lemon zest and juice, and black pepper.
  • Process until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the blender jar as needed.
  • Transfer the feta dip to a bowl and smooth out evenly.
  • Top with the fig pistachio topping.
  • Drizzle on the remaining honey.
  • Serve with warmed pita bread.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
