Discover what to eat in September with easy seasonal meals, fresh fall produce, and fun ways to help kids explore new foods together.

September is that lovely in-between month when summer hasn’t quite left, but fall is starting to sneak in. Gardens and farmers markets are still overflowing with summer produce while fall produce is starting to make an appearance. Its the perfect time to let changing seasons inspire your meal plans!
This month, I am sharing simple ways to enjoy whats fresh and local, add a little variety to busy back-to-school meals, and help your kids stay curious about the foods in their plates.
Let’s soak up those last tastes of summer while getting excited about all the cost favors coming next!

September is National Chicken Month
Chicken often gets a bad wrap for being boring, but thats just because it’s so versatile you can do so many things with it! Here are some easy weeknight recipes using chicken that are definitely not boring (my family requests these a lot)!
- Huli Huli Chicken – You only need 20 minutes to marinade and 12 minutes to grill, making this an easy and delicious dinner!
- Kung Pao Chicken – My family asks for this at least every few weeks. It takes a little more prep but the effort is worth it!
- Green Chili Chicken Enchiladas – This is on repeat at our house consistently! My kids cannot get enough of it!

National Condiment Month
This is a great month to try some new to you condiments, or try making some of your current favorites at home!
- Tzatziki is such a great condiment for so many meals – use it to dip or a spread!
- Syrian Roasted Red Pepper Dip is a great condiment if you haven’t tried it before! It’s great with veggies, but it’s also great used as a spread in a sandwich or wrap.
- Spicy Mayo is a must have at my house! Making it at home means you can make it as spicy (or as not) as you want!
