Homemade Peach Paletas
Paletas are frozen Mexican treats that are so flavorful! This homemade version combines fresh juicy peaches with rich whole milk to make a creamy and refreshing treat that is easy to make and fun to eat!
Paletas are no ordinary popsicle! This frozen dessert is from Mexico and packs a flavor punch! Often served from street carts in Mexico, these popsicles are made with blended fruits, chunks of fresh fruit, and sometimes even vegetables and herbs.
Paletas come in two different versions – both are made with blended fruit but you can make them either with water or with milk. This recipe combines peaches with milk for a creamy treat that is perfect for the end of summer when peaches are ripe, juicy, and oh so flavorful.

There are only four ingredients in this recipe, so making sure that you use ingredients that are fresh is so important. You want to use peaches that are ripe, juicy, and flavorful. And you want to make sure the milk you use is also fresh and rich for the best flavor. That is why I always choose AE Diary milk – because their milk is consistently the best
Ingredients needed:
Here is what you need to have on hand to make this recipe. For the full set of directions, please scroll down to the recipe card below.
- Peaches – You want ripe, juicy peaches. Peaches that aren’t ripe yet won’t give you good flavor. You can also use frozen peaches that have been thawed.
- Milk – For this recipe I use AE Dairy Whole Milk because it is rich, creamy, and always fresh. You could also use 2% milk, but I recommend whole for the best creamy flavor.
- Granulated Sugar – just to sweeten the paletas just a bit more. You can cut the sugar down a bit if your peaches are just past ripe and are very, very sweet.
- Cornstarch – This is a secret ingredient that will help your paletas not get so many ice crystals in the freezer. It won’t affect the taste but will greatly improve the texture, so don’t skip it!
How to make creamy peach paletas
This recipe is simple to make! For the full set of directions, please scroll down to the recipe card below. This is just a general overview on how to make it to help you plan.
- Peel the peaches and cut in half to remove the pits. Dice one of the peaches finely.
- Place the diced peaches into the bottom of the popsicle molds.
- Place the remaining peaches, the milk, granulated sugar, and the cornstarch in the jar of a blender.
- Process until smooth.
- Poor evenly into the popsicle molds over the diced peaches until you reach the fill line on the molds. You want them full but not over full.
- Carefully tap the popsicle mold on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
- Place the popsicle sticks in the molds.
- Place in the freezer for 6 hours, or overnight.
- Enjoy!
Recipe Note:
Enhance your paleta with toppings, drizzles and/or dips!
One thing that sets paletas apart from a regular popsicle is the fun addition of drizzles and toppings! If you visit a paleta store or a street cart, you pick your flavor of paleta, then choose to have it dipped in something like melted chocolate, sweetened condensed milk or dulche de leche, and then rolled in a topping like sprinkles, tajin seasoning, coconut, or crushed nuts.
Whether you have visited Mexico and need to get a paleta fix at home, are working on helping your family get to know food from around the world before a trip, or just looking for a delicious and easy treat your family will love, these homemade creamy peach paletas will have your whole family saying “Muy deliciosa!”
