Orange Creamsicle Ice Cream
Orange Creamsicle ice cream is a creamy orange and vanilla flavored ice cream that tastes like a childhood treat.
This ice cream is literally so easy to make, but tastes creamy and decadent. It’s a perfect treat to enjoy. It reminds me of those orange sherbert pops with the vanilla ice cream in the middle I ate as a child on hot summer days at the pool.
This version is a no churn recipe that you can make easily anytime of the year without an ice cream maker!
Perfect for any special day where you need a decadent and easy treat! Can you stop at just one scoop?

Recipe Ingredients
You only need a few ingredients to make this ice cream:
- Heavy cream – Creates a rich and flavorful ice cream! Use a fresh, good quality heavy cream with plenty of milk fat.
- Granulated sugar –
- Sweetened condensed milk – This helps add sweetness to the ice cream without additional sugar, and also helps to make a soft and smooth ice cream. Do not substitute with evaporated milk.
- An orange – You will need the zest and juice of one large orange!
- Vanilla extract – Use a good quality pure extract, not an imitation flavoring for the best results.
How to make this recipe
Make sure you scroll down to the recipe card below for the full set of instructions:
- In a medium sized bowl, beat together the heavy cream and sugar until soft peaks begin to form, about five minutes.
- Once the cream has been whipped, gently fold in the condensed milk, orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract until the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Pour the mixture into a 9×5 loaf pan and allow the ice cream.
- Carefully and thoroughly wrap the pan in saran wrap.
- Place in a deep, back area of your freezer to rest until it is fully set. Depending on the temperature of your freezer, this will take anywhere between 4 and 6 hours, but its best if you let it set overnight.
- Serve and enjoy!
Serve in a cone or bowl! Or just eat it out of the pan with a spoon. There are no wrong choices here.
Storage Information
This ice cream will last in the freezer anywhere from 3 to 6 months if stored properly.
Place it in an airtight container in the back of the freezer for best results.
Recipe Tips
- For a fun twist, you can add chocolate chips into the mix!
- Like the other no churn ice creams, this is good for up to two months when stored in the freezer covered with plastic wrap.
- Allow to sit on the counter for 10 minutes to soften before serving.
- If you want a really pronounced orange color, you can add some orange gel food coloring to the mix.
What’s the difference between Creamsicle and Dreamsicle?
Have you heard of both names? They both used to be brand names of ice cream based orange and vanilla flavored treats. Seems confusing, right? Creamsicles is a trademarked brand name for the actual ice pop you can still buy in a store. Dreamsicle is no longer being sold and has come to be known as any flavor combination of orange and vanilla together.
