Ingredients to make pineapple ginger juice

You only need a few ingredients to make this homemade juice. For the full amounts and directions, please make sure you scroll down to the recipe

  • Pineapple – You can use fresh or frozen (but thawed) pineapple. If you have a juicer, I recommend using that. If you use a blender to blend your own pineapple down, you need to blend really well (about 3-5 minutes), and then strain the juice through a sieve to get all the chunks out. I tested this recipe without straining and it was just waaaaay too chunky, even after I blended it as well as I could.
  • Ginger – You will want to use fresh ginger, not dried. The amount of ginger you use can be changed. Fresh ginger has a potent flavor, so the more you use the stronger of a punch it will have.
  • Sugar – A little granulated sugar helps sweeten the juice just a little. If you are using pineapple that is super sweet already, you can reduce or omit the sugar.
  • Lime Juice – A bit of citrus really brightens the flavors.
  • Water – Use tap or bottled water.

Timing of this recipe

This recipe doesn’t take much time at all. The longest part is waiting for the ginger simple syrup to cool. You can speed this up by placing it in the fridge, or you can ice it down.

Prepping ahead of time

This juice will keep for 3-5 days when stored in a pitcher with a lid in the fridge. It will settle while sitting and will need to be stirred before serving.

How to serve this to your family

This juice is great to serve in any season and any time of day. But I think it particularly shines when served with a meal that is on the spicier side.
