June is a gorgeous month full of lovely weather and the start of summer! Enjoy the month with all the fresh produce you can and eating outside as often as possible.

I know that planning food for a whole month can seem like a daunting task. With busy schedules, it’s easy to rely on the same meals time and time again and then get stuck in this loop of eating the same thing every single week. It’s easy to feel hungry for something different.

It’s my mission to help families enjoy a variety of meals throughout the month easily and effortlessly, without being bored by the same old thing all the time. Just because you have kids and a busy schedule doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy delicious food!

This month is all about fresh food! Think of the month like an edible hygge menu – how can you add coziness and fun into your family’s meal plan?

June is National Seafood Month

This is a great month to try some new seafood recipes!

  • If your family is new to seafood, starting with my air fryer tilapia is the best place. Its easy, quick, mild and delicious.
  • Herb crusted salmon is also an easy and flavorful recipe for families to try.
  • Coconut shrimp is a delicious and kid friendly recipe that is perfect for weeknights.

Fun Food Days in June

There are so many fun food related “holidays” this month! Try adding these to your meal plan for instant variety!

  • June 2 – National Rotisserie Chicken Day – I love relying on rotisserie chicken when I need a helping hand in meal prep. Pick one of the recipes from my rotisserie chicken guide.
  • June 3 – National Egg Day – I have a big selection of egg recipes for you to choose from, but my biased opinion is you should add egg roll in a bowl to your menu!
  • June 4 – National Cheese Day – Could there be a better day? Have a charcuterie board for dinner!
  • June 5 – World Plantain Day – If you haven’t tried plantains yet, you are missing out! Try either savory tostones or fried plantains sprinkled with cinnamon and brown sugar!
  • June 6 – National Fruit Salad Day – Add some colorful and flavorful berry fruit salad to your dinner.
  • June 10 – National Herbs and Spices Day – explore herbs with my Kids Guide to Culinary Herbs!
  • June 11 – National Elote Day – This easy take on Mexican street corn is fun and flavorful!
  • June 13 – National Cucumber Day – I love, love, love a good cucumber salad. I actually have four different cucumber salad recipes from around the world on this site, but my current favorite is this German cucumber salad!
