What to eat in March
Add these easy weeknight meals into your family’s meal plan this March to bring extra warmth, connection, and a little extra love to your family’s meals.

March is the perfect time to shake off the winter blues and bring a sense of renewal and warmth to your family’s meals. As the days grow longer, lets embrace flavorful dishes that bring everyone together around the table.
I know how overwhelming it can feel to plan meals for an entire month, especially with hectic schedules and picky eaters. It’s so easy to fall back on the same meals week after week—quick and familiar, but often uninspiring. That’s where I come in! My goal is to help you effortlessly add variety, excitement, and global inspiration to your meal plan, even on the busiest nights.
This month, let’s focus on comfort food with a twist—a little bit of hygge for your plate. Think warm soups, flavorful one-pan dinners, and a touch of fresh, vibrant ingredients that celebrate the season. These meals are designed to be simple enough for a busy weeknight, adventurous enough to keep things interesting, and delicious enough that even your kids will be asking for seconds.
Use the following as inspiration to add to your family’s meal plan and create a menu that feels like a big hug—cozy, inviting, and full of love.
National Women’s History Month
- Make a recipe that has been passed down in your family, talking about the people who made it.
- Get a book from the library from a women chef and make a recipe in it. Favorites who have left an impact on the food world are Julia Child, Martha Stewart, and Dorie Greenspan, but there are definitely a whole slew of chefs you could pick.
National Maple Sugar Month
- Maple bacon Brussels sprouts are where its at. Trust me.
- Have you ever made fudge with your kids before? Maple walnut fudge is a very simple but delicious recipe everyone will enjoy eating.
- Maple sage roasted vegetables are another great side dish full of color and flavor.
National Noodle Month
There are so many amazing noodle/pasta recipes from around the world! Have many different ones can you try this month?
- Thai Basil Pesto Pasta is a fun fusion recipe that is GREEN and so flavorful! (If you can’t find Thai basil you can use regular basil)
- Chicken pad thai is full of flavor and packed with color.
- Lemon ricotta pasta is one of my kid’s favorites. We always pair it with grilled chicken and some roasted broccoli.
There are always a ton of food holidays each month, but I have hand picked just a few for you to enjoy this month:
- March 14 – Pi Day – There are so many ways you could celebrate this. Pizza pies, hand pies, pot pies, or a sweet pie. Or all of them?!
- March 17 – St Patricks Day – Celebrate with some Irish potato soup and some wheaten bread.
- March 27 – National Paella Day – This simplified but no less delicious chicken and sausage paella version is so kid friendly (and adult friendly, too).
