Pasta with homemade pumpkin sauce is a really great simple meal. This quick pan sauce comes together in just a few minutes and its creamy, flavorful, and delicious. Its almost like a cross between a homemade mac and cheese and a homemade alfredo. Its thick, creamy, and luscious. Yes, pasta sauce is luscious.

You can use any shape of pasta that you prefer, but I love a rotini with it so you get as much sauce in each bite as you can.

How to make this pasta recipe

This pasta is simple and easy to make! For the full set of directions, please make sure you scroll down to the recipe card below.

  1. Heat a medium sized skillet with high sides over medium heat. When hot, add the butter and saute the garlic for 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
  2. Add in the pumpkin puree, cream cheese, and the chicken broth.
  3. Stir in the spices and then turn the heat down to medium low. Allow the sauce to simmer, while stirring occasionally, while you cook the pasta according to package directions. The cream cheese will look chunky and like it will never ever stir into the sauce, but trust me, it will!
  4. When the pasta is done, and you have drained it, turn off the heat on the pumpkin sauce. Stir in the cream, and then stir in the cooked pasta.
  5. Serve the pasta, and top each serving with freshly grated parmesan cheese.
  6. Enjoy!
